Our eight-bed residential facility is nestled in the rural heart of Franklin, Tennessee. CLLN boasts a ranch style house on thirty acres.  The residents have a unique opportunity to experience farm life at it's best, along with access to the small historic town of Franklin.  Nashville is just 45 minutes from the property.  This serene environment is an ideal location for therapeutic rehabilitation.  Transportation to appointments, errands,  recreational events, and church services is provided.  Cool Springs Galleria Mall is 15 minutes away.  The residents take advantage of the many festivals, concerts, and community events offered in Nashville and Franklin.  Some favorites would include Nashville's American Artisan Craft Festival each Spring in Centennial Park, and Franklin's annual Rodeo.  The residents are taken on a yearly vacation to the Gulf Shores of Florida.    The CLLN residential household underwent a renovation in 1999 to include more space and many new features to enhance quality of life.  Our full basement provides laundry facilities and a recreation room.  Domesticated pets and livestock belonging to the program are kept outdoors to allow residents interaction with animal life.  Smoking is permitted, and is limited to an outdoor lounge area.  A co-ed facility, CLLN offers semi-private rooms with 24-hour supervision of trained staff.  CLLN prides itself on creating a family environment that promotes adjustment to community living.  Residents are encouraged to reach their utmost level of functioning.  Ongoing case-management after completion of the program is available.

Therapeutic Approach

Residents are admitted to CLLN on a trial basis and an assessment of their needs is conducted by the staff.  Every effort is made to promote a healthy adjustment so the new resident can remain in the program.  Family/guardian and physician are interviewed to gain a clear perspective of what the resident's lifestyle has been prior to admission.  An initial observation period is taken to see how the resident is adjusting to his/her new circumstances.  During this period a plan of initial goals is established for the resident including his/her input.  Medications are administered by staff at prescribed times.  Ongoing collaboration with the resident's physician is key to creating a healthy balance with the appropriate amounts/types of medication needed for comfortable, successful living.  CLLN's therapeutic approach includes a token economy, which means that residents must accomplish their goals in order to receive privileges that are of value to him/her.  The CLLN staff is trained to assist the residents in attaining their goals.  As the resident becomes proficient at his/her initial goals, the plan is revised to address other needs that are presented.  The goal plan is in place for as long as the resident lives at CLLN.  The ultimate objective is to assist the resident to reach the highest level of functioning possible and to promote independent living if that is a realistic option.  CLLN has seen residents grow to live independently, drive, and sustain employment with proper case-management.  It is critical that CLLN have the support/cooperation of the family/guardian and physician in order for the program to be successful. Those who live at or have graduated from CLLN find this method of rehabilitation beneficial and ultimately a means of finally being able to function in community and life challenges.  There is no limited length of stay at CLLN. Goals are accomplished at the pace of the resident's ability to achieve them and ample time is given for each goal to become a permanent lifestyle change.  Private counseling sessions with a licensed psychologist are provided on campus to assist the resident in handling the natural stressors that occur with rehabilitation and imposed community living.  CLLN is foremost a program that encourages residents to successfully gain or regain coping and survival skills that were lost or deterred at the onset of mental illness.
